Our purpose statement
'To know Him and make Him known'
Our primary purpose for existing is to worship God. To Know God, know in the biblical sense – that is to be intimate with Him.
The purpose of the Church, collectively and individually, is then to continue Jesus’ ministry on earth - that is, preaching good news and being good news by caring for the poor and oppressed, healing the sick, seeking the lost, and integrating, teaching and training new disciples to do the same.
As we seek to be Jesus to this world it’s of paramount importance that we remember that it is His church and we should always ask Him what next, where next. Our aim is to not pray ‘Lord bless what we’re doing’ but to pray ‘Lord, help us to do what you’re blessing’
So our priority as a church is to be Presence led in all that we do and what we do can be summarised in a single sentence based on two key scriptures:
“We believe a great commitment to the great commandment and the great commission will grow a great church!”
The Great Commandment:
“Jesus said, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart...soul...and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself. All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matt. 22:36-40
The Great Commission:
“Jesus said, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Matt. 28:19-20
- To “Love God with all your heart” is WORSHIP
- To “Love your neighbour as yourself” is MINISTRY
- To “Go...make disciples” is EVANGELISM
- To “Baptise...” is to INCORPORATE INTO FELLOWSHIP
- To “Teach them...all things” is DISCIPLESHIP
Our Mission Statement
‘Love God, Love Eachother & Love the Lost'
